This uplight combines many of the elements that make up beautiful Victorian design.

First, there's the shape resembling a Greek or Roman urn. Second is the use of several types of materials to create contrast and sense of elaborate opulence. (In this case, stone, blown glass, and etched glass have all been replicated using resilient, long-lasting resin.) Finally, there's the use of decorative and figurative designs. The shade on this lamp features intricate knotted scrollwork while the base supports a raised caduceus -- an insignia modeled after Hermes staff in Greek myythology. The result is Victorian beauty and modern utility.
